Colt And It’s Collectors

Colt and It’s Collectors is the catalog for the exhibit Colt: Legacy of a Legend at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. Opening May 16, 2003, the exhibit is the most historically significant Colt exhibit in 100 years. The culmination of more than two years of planning and preparation, this volume is presented by the colt and the firearms legend he set in motion. Six essays explore the history of the man and the company. Colt’s contribution to America’s industrial dominance, and the role of the collector, as well as the myth of the west and the western gunman and a comparison of Colt and William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody Nearly 1000 color photographs of the firearms and memorabilia in the exhibit are included in Colt and Its Collectors.
